Looking for a Hotbed of Innovation? Choose Paris Region!

For companies like RealWear wishing to expand abroad, the Paris region is a no-brainer. With its strong support network and professional approach towards building new partnerships and pool of young & skilled talents, it was an easy decision. Find out more about RealWear and why they believe the Paris region is a ‘hotbed for innovation’ in our exclusive interview.

Please tell us a few words about RealWear

RealWear® is a global company providing in-situ information and in-the-field training with software and hardware to help people improve safety and increase productivity at work. Our flagship product, the HMT-1®, is the world’s first ruggedized head-mounted wearable Android-class tablet that frees a worker’s hands for dangerous jobs. We’re proud to say the HMT-1 has become the industry standard for a hands-free device in industrial settings.

What led you to expand to Paris Region and what support did you get from Choose Paris Region?

The strong support and professional network by your organization and your country’s welcoming of innovation and partnership has catalyzed our growth. As you know France is a hotbed for innovation. We’ve partnered with the best French companies to optimize their apps for our voice-enabled platform.

What has been the impact of Covid-19 on your business?

Our product is an essential power tool for first-line employees – those who are unable to work from home. The HMT-1 enables them to collaborate safely and remotely to troubleshoot issues with an expert. We’ve seen a tremendous spike in sales from both new and existing customers, particularly in manufacturing.

What is the competitive advantage of your technology?

Controlling our device with just your voice, even in high noise environments, has been a very compelling feature. Also, the device is IP66 rated. It literally can be dropped, splashed, or stepped on without a worry. Finally, it’s a “reality-first, digital-second” device. There’s no digital layer between you and the machine, allowing for full situational awareness

What is your business strategy now that you have expanded to France?

Our French team is all about leveraging and co-selling with our partners. We’ve developed amazing relationships with many French partners, such as independent software vendors, resellers and distributors. This has allowed us to build trust with customers like Groupe PSA and Total S.A.

If any, tell us about your recruitment plans & how you would *qualify the workforce/talents in the Paris Region (*that’s if you’ve already recruited staff here)?

As we continue to grow the business, our sales and marketing efforts will grow alongside it. Of course, we are always looking for talent in France. Because of our successful partnerships and expanded sales channels, we’ve been able to increase our growth with the same resources.

Tell us a few words about your long-term perspectives.

Very positive. We are so grateful to have been able to continue to grow during these difficult times. The new seeds we’ve planted this year will create more global deployments in 2021 as the word continues to spread about RealWear.
