Tanium, one of the world's most valued cybersecurity nuggets, is coming to Paris!

Tanium provides an Endpoint (desktop and server) visibility and control platform that transforms the way companies manage and secure their information systems.

Founded in 2007 in the United States by father and son David and Orion Hindawi, Tanium has made a name for itself by offering companies and government organizations the ability to secure their IT infrastructure by gaining real-time visibility and control of all of their endpoints (desktops and servers), regardless of their number or location. With the increasing complexity and heterogeneity of IT architectures, as a direct consequence of successive mergers and acquisitions, having a perfect visibility on one's IT assets is very difficult and crucial for companies.

Tanium's clients include many banks, half of the Fortune 100 companies and all of the U.S. Armed Forces.

"Based on customer feedback, it is estimated that 5% to 15% of endpoints (desktops and servers) in organizations are unknown to IT departments. If you don't know the exact number of machines connected to your network, you can't ensure proper management and security. Let's take the example of Wannacry: the only way to protect yourself against this type of threat is to ensure that Windows is updated on every endpoint (workstations and servers). However, you can't update what you don't know (...) Whether it's because of the piling up of isolated solutions, each one implemented to respond to a particular problem, or following successive mergers and acquisitions of departments and companies, IT architectures are increasingly complex and heterogeneous, with several OSs, and with more and more software, which makes it even more difficult to have a good visibility of IT equipment (...) ) In terms of security, by dint of installing a solution for each problem, companies end up with a multitude of security solutions that end up giving the opposite effect of the one expected: it weighs down IT systems and makes them less efficient," said Dagobert Levy, Tanium's Vice President South EMEA.

Tanium has become a real empire

Surrounded by a team of highly skilled employees with deep market experience, the founders spent five years exclusively developing the Tanium platform to ensure that the technology would fit into the world's largest networks and perfectly meet their need to simplify their security solutions. "Our mantra at Tanium is: "You can't protect what you can't see", in essence, you can have the best threat detection mechanisms but if you don't know exactly what is connected to your network, they will be useless. Our vision: you need to refocus on the basics and ask yourself the right questions. What IT assets are on the network? Are all the devices up to date? Do we have 100% visibility of our assets in real time? (...) Thanks to our platform, IT teams can now identify, monitor, analyze and resolve desktop and server performance issues across the company (...) Performance has become an operational as well as a security issue: operational because it impacts user productivity and customer experience, and security because with the stacking of solutions, security is often held responsible for the poor performance of desktops and even servers within the company," explained Dagobert Levy

Today, many of the world's companies, including half of the Fortune 100, major retail stakeholders, leading financial institutions, and the U.S. Armed Forces rely on Tanium to make confident decisions in response to threats. Tanium was recently ranked #7 on Forbes' "Top 100 Private Companies in the Cloud Computing Market for 2019" and #55 on Fortune's "100 Best Medium Workplaces" list.

The strong presence of major accounts and talent is what made Tanium decide to join the Paris Region ecosystem

"We decided to open an office in Paris to access the French market, which includes many large companies in the public and private sectors and whose managers are very mature in terms of IT security," explained Dagobert Levy.

He added: "Paris Region offers many advantages to foreign companies (...) Most of the head offices of major accounts are located in this region, as well as the infrastructure and skills necessary for the development of a high potential company like ours (...) The country's climate is favorable (...) ) Brexit led us to consider locating our headquarters in Paris, like many other companies (...) There are many skills here and these are the talents we want to recruit (...) We want to hire them, trust them and give them the means to act (...) this is how we will accomplish our mission and successfully develop our company, of which we are proud"

2020: Tanium France is recruiting new staff

"In 2020, we will continue to invest in expanding our client base and developing our team in France. We plan to recruit account managers, technical account managers and customer success managers to meet our customers' needs and to support our rapid growth," said Dagobert Levy.
